The Inauguration Ceremony of Kalaingar Women’s Rights Scheme was held on (15.09.2023) under the leadership of Hon’ble Minister of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights Department Mrs. P. Geetha Jeevan. In this event, Hon’ble Mayor Mr. P. Jegan, Corporation Commissioner Mr. C. Dinesh Kumar I.A.S., were Participated.
The Hon’ble Municipal Administration Minister Mr. K.N. Nehru inaugurated the STEM Park (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics Park) and Urban Learning Center in Ambedkar Nagar area under the Smart City Project at a cost of Rs.28.87 Cr. Hon’ble Member of Parliament for Thoothukudi Mrs. Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Hon’ble Minister of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights Mrs. P. India Smart Cities Conclave 2023 held in Indore on 26th to 27th September 2023, Madhya Pradesh. In this Thoothukudi Corporation Awarded Third prize at National level under the Title Social Aspect. Hon’ble Mayor Mr. P. Jegan and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. C. Dinesh Kumar I.A.S., received from Hon’ble Union Minister of Housing, Urban Affairs and Petroleum & Natural Gas Department Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri. City Engineer, Deputy City Engineer, Assistant Engineer and Departmental Officers participated in this event on behalf of the Corporation.
Old Bus Stand constructed under Smart City project at a cost of Rs. 58.64 Cr and Rainwater drainage works at a cost of Rs. 87.01Cr were inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Municipal Administration Mr. K.N. City Knowledge Center, Study Center, 2 Primary Health Centers under National Urban Welfare Scheme – Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr. M. K. Stalin inaugurated through Video Conference. In the event, Hon’ble Minister of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights Mrs. P. Geetha Jeevan, District Collector G. Lakshmipathi I.A.S., Honourable Mayor Mr. P. On the 70th birthday of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the one-year anniversary of the inauguration of the members of the Parliament, the 10000 tree saplings planting program was held at the Municipal Corporation Daruwaikulam Urakadang. Election Commission of India awarded the “Best District Election Officer of Thoothukudi” program held on 25.01.2024 in Chennai for taking special measures to include new voters in the Electoral Roll in Thoothukudi district-2024. The Commissioner of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation, Mr. C. Dinesh Kumar I.A.S., received the honour from the Governor of Tamil Nadu in the program.
On behalf of Thoothukudi Corporation, Hon’ble Mayor Mr. P. Jegan, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. C. Dinesh Kumar I.A.S., sent relief items from the Corporation Office to the affected people due to the heavy impact of Cyclone Michaung in Chennai. Municipal Commissioner Mr. L. Madhubalan I.A.S., inspected the Rainwater Drainage works being carried out on Ettayapuram Road in Thoothukudi Corporation. Departmental officers were participated in this Inspection (19.02.2024).

Under Swachh India Project 2.0, Health Complex were constructed for public use. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Member of Parliament Mrs. Kanimozhi Karunanidhi.
